   March 18, 2022                                                  Friday Students at ARHS led by The Environmental Action Club are hosting a tree planting event in the greater Amherst Community to offset some of our carbon emissions and make up for our school's paper usage. This year's event will take place on April 23rd. You and other volunteers will plant trees at homes all over our town. If you would like to make a positive impact on the environment and our community please consider buying tree saplings. Each sapling costs $5 and can be ordered online at our website here . We are offering three different species: The Pin Oak, Red Maple, and The American Sycamore. Order your trees by March 21st and help celebrate Earth Day by planting trees on April 23rd!    March 17, 2022                                                  Thursday SENIORS- Are you not sure what you will do next after graduation? How about exploring career options in manufacturing?  The Manufacturing Skills Initiative (MSI) training partnership with Greenfield Community College offers quick, non-credit certificates! Some of our manufacturing employers offer education benefits that can provide ways to pay for college credits and certifications to build toward high-skill careers. We offer two short non-credit MSI trainings that can be fully funded by state and federal job training grants for eligible participants.  The first training is a short 4-week classroom course called Foundational Manufacturing that starts in June (or September) and teaches basic skills in industrial blueprint reading, precision measurement, OSHA safety, shop math and career readiness.  The second is an 8-week hands-on CNC Operator training for entry level machinist skills in precision metal work tha

You can also order parent ads on this site as well to honor your student, a grad, a team, or a staff member! Every quarter-page ad pays for a yearbook for a senior on free or reduced lunch. If you would like to make a donation to help provide yearbooks for all students without buying an ad, you can simply send a check to the high school made out to “ARHS Yearbook.” We are seeking student artists to create our Yearbook cover! The top winner will have their yearbook design on the cover for all to enjoy for the rest of time, plus a $25 Limered gift card! 2nd and 3rd place runners up will also receive slightly smaller gift cards.   March 15, 2022                                                  Tuesday  Stop by the table outside the cafeteria after school today and get some treats from The  Best Buddies Club!   Proceeds will go towards fundraising for the annual  Best Buddies Friendship Walk on May 7th  at Polar Park in Worcester as well as other engaging activities for our students in the community! The American Red Cross is offering a Lifeguarding Course in Northampton through April and May for folks 15 and older to get their certification. If you want support thinking about GAP Year, Employment, Military, Americorps, please feel free to set a time to meet with Mx. Cuffee-Gray, or come to College and Career Office Hours! Students in 10th grade will have MCAS testing on March 22nd and 24th and should arrive to school at the regular time. ( Grades 9,11,12 have a 2.5 hour delay ) Students will need a  charged Chromebook and headphones. If students need to borrow a Chromebook or Headphones, they should complete this form: Request for Chromebook or Headphones 10th GRADE MCAS Opportunity !  The town pool is in need of new instructors for our indoor swim lessons. Lessons start 3/15 and run through May and are held every Tuesday and Thursday from 5-7 pm. Meeting Tuesday every week, starting on March 15. We’re gonna eat snacks, relax, and plant all kinds of things! Ranging from Venus Fly Traps, to Herbs for natural remedies, to Food that we’ll get to eat. You don’t need any experience! This is gonna be a fun and carefree environment where we can help the community and ourselves through gardening.
