Monday September 30th, 2024 Hello Students of ARHS, We are in the process of starting a School Site Council (SSC) at ARHS. The SSC’s main focus will be working on the School Improvement Plan (SIP), and ways to increase student and family engagement at ARHS. We will be meeting once a month for an hour, the day and time will be determined after the SSC is formed. Our SSC will have between 12-18 members. Ideally, there will be 4-6 representatives from three categories: school personnel, students, and parents/guardians of currently enrolled students. Please contact Mr. Sadiq directly if you are interested in being on the School Site Council. Depending on how many students are interested in joining the SSC, there may need to be an election. If so, please go to room 168 at the Dean’s Office (English Hallway) to get an application, on the back of the application it will tell you what documents are needed to get a parking permit. If for some reason you do not find the office you are more than welcome to visit us at the main office to get an application as well. Calling all ARHS Students! Tuesday September 17th, 2024 Dear Staff, please consider contributing to the Amherst Survival Center Hygiene Drive. A collection box is in the Staff Mailroom. Most needed items include shampoo, conditioner, soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes & deodorant. Thanks! There was a meeting held yesterday to discuss the criteria and expectations of the upcoming school council elections. Paperwork is due by September 26. The election will be held on Monday, September 30. Students who missed the meeting can pick up forms from Ms. Malcolm in the athletic office. Look for "HS Ultimate -  142305: For all genders in grades 9-12. This program will provide a fun and competitive venue for high school students to play Ultimate. Play two games per week with skills and drills sessions on Tuesdays and games on Fridays. With Coach Darden Pitts, ARMS Field /Kiwannis. 4:00pm-6:00pm Dates: 9/17-10/25, $89.00/$99.00, Age 14-18.
