MA Seal of Biliteracy
Dear Families,
We are proud to have so many different languages spoken in ARPS!
As a way of celebrating multilingualism and supporting students in strengthening the languages they speak at home, as well as new languages that they are learning, ARPS is proud to offer a Biliteracy Program.
Students who have proficiency in English as well as one or more additional languages may earn a Biliteracy Award. Students in grades 6 and 8 are eligible for Biliteracy Pathway Awards, whereas high school students may earn a Pathway Award or the Seal of Biliteracy. The Seal of Biliteracy award, which is placed on the student’s transcript and high school diploma, guarantees to future employers and colleges that the student is bilingual. This can lead to better opportunities for hiring and admission, and in some cases, the award can be worth a certain number of college credits.
To earn Biliteracy Awards, students must participate in testing to demonstrate their ability in a Language Other Than English, as well as English. More information about award levels can be found HERE.

High school seniors have already been tested this year. Testing for students in 9th, 10th, or 11th grade will take place from February 26th through February 28th.
The registration deadline is Friday, February 14th.
