Local artists Ligia Bouton and Matt Donovan are creating a community-driven short film exploring people's interest in Emily Dickinson! If you (students!) would like to share any way you feel connected to the poet, email them at mdonovan@smith.edu and ligiabouton@gmail.com to be part of the film!

MA Seal of Biliteracy Awards

Congratulations to all the students who have earned the 2025 Massachusetts Seal of Biliteracy Award! If you have earned a Biliteracy award this year and missed the Western MA Biliteracy Awards ceremony, please come find Madame Cissé in room 145 during Flex Block to pick up your award certificate and gift. Bravo!

The SPIFFY Coalition and the Communities That Care Coalition are hosting a workshop for teens to learn critical policy and advocacy skills!


The Youth Policy & Advocacy Skills Summit workshop will be on Saturday, June 14th, from 10AM-3PM at Smith College's Conference Center: Learn the basics of what policy is with interactive activities, and how to be a changemaker for issues you care about.

  • Who: For teens (ages 13-19) in Hampshire County, Franklin County, and the North Quabbin Region 

  • Compensation: Each teen who registers and can attend the full summit will receive a $75 gift card.

  • Other: Lunch provided, as well as snacks and drinks throughout the day. Register HERE! Details are in the attached flyer.


Do you love being outside, taking care of plants, and giving back to your community? If so, you might be interested in being a School Garden Steward this summer! Garden Stewards receive training in garden care, commit 2 hours per week to take care of the gardens at our elementary schools, and receive a stipend as a token of appreciation. Applications are being accepted on a rolling basis. For more info, see your guidance counselor or look for the Summer Garden Steward posters around the school.
